Deposit Works
The Corporation has undertaken a number of deposit works on behalf of various departments of the Government of Delhi:
Social Welfare Department
The Old Age Home at Tilak Vihar, Dwarka & Bindapur
have been completed and made operational so as to provide accommodation to around 400 persons.
Working Women Hostel at Rohini has been completed. The hostel has the capacity to accommodate 80 working women.
The work of five Halfway Homes at various locations,
with estimated cost of Rs. 50.0 crore, is at the planning
stage. These homes when completed will endeavour to
re-integrate the drug addicts and mentally sick people
with the society.
The Academy for Construction Workers is at the planning
stage with an estimated cost of Rs. 60.0 crore. The institute
will cater to the training needs of construction workers of
various trades to improve their skills.
NIFT
The project of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) at Kangra for Rs. 34.0 crore is in progress. Girls’ Hostel to accommodate 120 students has been completed in phase-I. Rest of the work is in progress. Development work for the construction of Academic, Hostel and International Fashion Centre buildings of NIFT, Hauz Khas with an estimated cost of Rs. 35.0 crore is ready to commence.
DTC
DTC Depot at Dwarka, Narela and Kanjhawala have been completed and handed over to DTC. About 600 low-floor buses have been accommodated for parking in addition to office building and workshops.
Other Deposit Works
Head office for DPCC building is at the planning stage,
drawings for approval have been submitted to the MCD.
The cost of the project is Rs. 40.0 crore TERI has been
engaged as a consultant to design the green and energy
efficient building.
Senior Secondary School at Jahangirpuri Block-A is
at the completion stage. The cost of the project is
Rs. 14.0 crore About 800 students will be accommodated
in the new school.
