Development Works in Unauthorised Colonies
DSIIDC has been entrusted with the work of providing basic infrastructure like roads & storm water drains in unauthorised colonies of Delhi. The work is carried out as deposit work on behalf of the Urban Development (UD) Department, Government of NCT of Delhi. Starting from 1998-99, DSIIDC has been associated with various colonies spread over 27 different Assembly Constituencies in Delhi. During this period, the Developmental work of the first phase in 210 colonies have been completed.
Up To 2010-11, a cumulative expenditure amounting to about 850.00 crores has been incurred for the purpose by DSIIDC. The Corporation performed developmental works in 160 colonies in 2011-12. Works amounting to approximately 540 crores are under
progress in various steps.
In addition to the above, and as per guidelines issued by Urban Development Department, rigid pavements (C.C. Roads) have been considered in the colonies where water lines have already been laid by Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and flexible pavements (bituminous roads/brick flooring) where water lines are yet to be laid by DJB.
Further, to maintain quality of the works with progress as the prime concern, M/s. Sriram Institute for Industrial Research, which is known for its reliability in the field, has been entrusted with the work as the third-party Quality Assurance for these works of unauthorised colonies.
